i just love going to a new furniture store or shopping centre. seeing the colours and being able to feel the textures and thinking to myself, "i know exactly who would love this!" sometimes i can't resist walking in just to touch things.

Ant Paulsen

after training as an architectural draughtsman, ant's focus quickly led to residential design, and more precisely, interiors.

ant grew his interest in kitchens by basing himself in a manufacturer's workshop, which led into a role producing cutlists and detail drawings, giving ant in depth knowledge of hardware and technical details. this has provided ant a unique point of view not often found in designers.

ant has completed various training courses through the National Kitchen and Bathroom Association, and in 2002 was awarded a commendation as 'young designer of the year' by the Home Ideas Centre Kitchen and Bathroom Awards.

at the 2009 National Kitchen and Bathroom Association Awards, ant received two awards for his renovation kitchen entries:

  • Best Use of Colour Award, sponsored by Resene
  • Innovative Use of Lighting Award, sponsored by Homestyle magazine

ant now works as an independent designer based in Auckland and is a member of the NKBA. view the services page to find out how ant can assist you on your project.
